Recommended LinksThis page is for links that don't fit in any of the other 'links' groups, but which I would like to support, or which I simply enjoy. Bardic Wind - fun acrobatics troupe. Here are some of my pictures of them, with links to their Yahoo group and web page. Project Gutenberg - Public domain books, free and online. It's a wonderful resource. Bartleby - One of my favorite places to find reading material online. Both reference materials and fiction. Sir Clisto's Tome of Knowledge - This is a page of links for all kinds of history-related links, many of which focus on crafts of the middle ages, such as archery, brewing, metal working, etc. IMPACT Safety Program - This self defense group is wonderful. I highly recommend taking a class. This website has links to other IMPACT groups as well. If you think you can't afford it, CALL them. They can make accommodations based on financial need. Big Scioty Barn Dance - Contra dancing in Columbus, OH. It's a good low-level aerobic workout, way to meet neat people, and just plain have fun dancing this descendent of the French quadrille. The Art of Rowena - Well-known SF/F artist. I met her at Mid-Ohio con, and was drawn by her superb use of line and color. Hoaxbusters - Before sending virus warnings to your friends, look it up on this page! Spanish TV and Radio - Links to various Spanish-language streaming audio/video sites. Great for practicing Spanish! Algebra Help - Practice your algebra skills! It's an interactive site that checks your answers for you. Remember, doing mental processes that challenge you helps to ward off the effects of Alzheimer's. It's also useful for an odd variety of things, like pattern making, changing pan size when baking, and more. Denise Austin - This is the person whose video tapes I use to work out. Between January 2002 and April 2003 I lost 35 lbs and went from size 12 pants being tight to size 8 pants being tight. Oh, and I got rid of back pain and leg muscle spasms, which was the reason I started. I particularly recommend the Hit the Spot series to start, then add it Fat Burning Blast as aerobics once you've been toning awhile. Upgrade to Power Kickboxing once you're used to doing aerobics, and go on to Ultimate Fat Burner once you're in pretty good condition. I don't really recommend any of her videos from before 1995, though most of the ones after that are good. Holly Lisle's Articles - I am using her advice on how to write a novel.
